these are three different pieces of media taken in different ways.its good because it shows how many different ways you can make a video yet it is inemportant .The keira one is the one i find most interesting because it is a powerfull advert ,one type of media banned which has been seen more now because its band on youtube.
the one underneath is cool because its one piece of media (xbox) being advertised for television (2nd type) which was banned so it can now only be seen via a 3rd (internet site youtube)

Week 1
looking at my media diary ,i have realised whilst looking at other forms of media that i only put media down that i directly think about as in large positions of the media eg music tv radio etc .i have realised that the persue of media is inevitable ,like walking past the radio, posters , flyers ,cinemas and that the media that i commented upon is only a small perportion of what media i actually came in to contact with.
Media essay
The media diary that i have collected over the last three days in my belief does not represent who i am and my normal habbits. Since starting university even in the only two weeks that i hav been attending i hav began to open myself to research and gathering an insight where ever possible hence the reason for spending more time on the computer than i ever have before. Due to the importance of creating contacts i have become a member of many social sites that i havnt before ,and the use of wordpress/blogging aswell i have been trying to become as familiar with these sites as possible to secure my understanding. I dont believe that this a clear representation of what i usually do ,hear , see etcas i have spent more time on the web and more time at home than before since i am in a new town in comparisen to in birmingham because i would have read/watched the news on the way to work seen more gigs and attended moreopen social events.What suprises me is how much i do using pieces of media how i have to be doing something eg listening to music ,watching a film ,television there seems an importance to be doing something at any one time even whilst im doing other things.I think that media is now becoming more important than ever before and important in our lives to an extent we beccome dependant on it to get us through the day.
If a person was to read my diary i think they would beleive that i am dependant on technology and the media and self obsorbed do to the fact that it is mainly social sites and everyday like banking and shopping i do from home.with the choice of some movies that are from a broad spectrum frm art house to mainstream to arthouse and different genres ,aswell as the newspapers and music could suggest either a shallow person from the amount of sociaal sites or educated because of my interests. I dont beleive that you can tell a person from three days worth of media ,looking over a wider spectrum of time and usual habbits in my own city then it coul dbe different but i belive this shows im a bit of both and i would agree.
ii beleive that we are a media controlled societie and that my diary isnt a true representation of all media that is used from a day to day basis i think that there is an importants in the way we lead our lives ,the insights that it gives to people,culture etc .a question was assked how do we talk about media , i think that it is incorrect,How dont we talk about media is a more true question in todays society as it is involved in all aspects of nearly all hobbies and conversations .looking at media and technology i believe that looking into media is to much of a broad spectrum our lives revolve around media one way or the other.

WEEK 2
In this weeks 100mc we were given a number of tasks and questions,some individually and others in ourdicussion groups.ourr first task was to individually go back and look at our own media diaries from the previouse week and we were to choose a piece of media and more thourally look into the background of the sourse in forms of basic questions.
The source of media that i chose was a television program named smallville which is distributed on the British television channel E4 even though it is american one of its largest fan bases is in england which shows that media ic a universal language and depending on its quality and form will be in demand.Television is one of the main and widley used forms of media.The company/s that produced this piece of mass entertainment are warner brothers in overall as the main owner but they have there subbranches tht are involved eg Dc comics, warner bros television,Tollin,and smallville ink
These companys and there main total are owned in partnership with other companys ,organisaons and comittee members.They own many other organisations and many different subdivisions within there own organisation dealing with different roles and aspects of the media,Other companys such as warner brothers studios,Interactive entertainment,warner brothers televisionwarner brothers animation, warner brothers home line,new line cinema ,the wb.comand half of the cw netork.There anual turn over is12 billion dollers which makes them one of the most profitable organisations in the world.
The way in which they make there money are variouse ,they create and market entertainment,in many categories such as film and television but there money isnt specifically through these mediums (this is a large totall of there turnover) they create revenue through such things as film distribution and television sponsership,franchises,merchandise,copy right royalties and rights and publication and ownership rights.They are a multi billion doller corperation so many fingers in many pies.
The reason why this show was mass entertainment,supply and demand the television show smallville revolves around superman and superman is a brand,a piece of merchandise which is globally recognised.films,cartoons,comics ,books and merrchandise so more is needed and the newest form of medium which to display is through tv series but pre or post the movies that you have already seen.This programe was made to distribute through television networks to the masses of fans that will simply follow due to the nature of the programme.
